Digital Signage

Digital signage is the use of electronic displays to show content such as images, videos, menus, and information in public or commercial spaces.

What Is Digital Signage?

Digital signage refers to any system that uses electronic displays — such as LCD screens, LED walls, or smart TVs — to show dynamic content. Unlike traditional printed signs, digital signage can be updated remotely, scheduled in advance, and tailored to specific audiences or times of day.

How Does It Work?

A typical digital signage setup involves three components:

  1. Display hardware — a screen, TV, or video wall mounted in the desired location.
  2. A media player — a small device (or a smart TV's built-in app) that connects to the display and retrieves content.
  3. Software (CMS) — a content management system that lets you create, organize, schedule, and push content to your screens from anywhere.

Common Use Cases

Digital signage is used across nearly every industry:

  • Retail — promotions, product information, wayfinding
  • Corporate offices — welcome screens, KPI dashboards, meeting room displays
  • Events & conferences — schedules, speaker info, social walls
  • Hospitality — digital menu boards, lobby information
  • Education — campus announcements, wayfinding, emergency alerts
