ScreenLoom 2025: What We Built and What's Coming
A look back at our first year - what we shipped, what we learned from beta testers, and where we're headed.
ScreenLoom Team
Our First Year
We launched ScreenLoom in early 2025 with a straightforward idea: digital signage shouldn’t cost a fortune or require an IT degree. A year in, we’ve got a working product and a small group of beta testers putting it through its paces.
Here’s what actually happened.
What We Shipped
Scheduling That Works
The scheduling engine was rewritten twice. The first version handled basic timeslots. The second added:
- Recurring schedules (daily, weekly, custom)
- Time zone support (this was harder than expected)
- Holiday overrides
- Date-range rules for seasonal content
Offline Mode
Beta testers at trade shows kept running into flaky venue WiFi. So we built proper offline support — screens cache their content and keep playing even if the connection drops. When it comes back, everything syncs automatically.
Team Features
A few beta testers needed multiple people managing screens. We added:
- Role-based permissions (admin, editor, viewer)
- Activity logs so you can see who changed what
- Team workspaces for managing separate locations
80+ App Integrations
Google Slides, Instagram feeds, weather widgets, calendars, news tickers — we kept adding integrations based on what people actually asked for.
What We Learned from Beta Testers
The most useful feedback came from people using ScreenLoom in the real world:
- Churches told us they needed simpler scheduling for service times that change seasonally
- Coworking spaces wanted meeting room displays that sync with Google Calendar
- Trade show exhibitors needed everything to work offline, no exceptions
- Corporate offices asked for branded templates they could customize without design tools
Every one of those became a feature.
What Didn’t Work
Not everything was a win. Our first template editor was too complicated — people wanted drag-and-drop, not a design tool. We simplified it. The initial onboarding flow had too many steps. We cut it in half.
What’s Next in 2026
We’re working on:
- Analytics dashboard — so you can see if people actually look at your screens
- AI content suggestions — auto-generate content ideas based on your industry
- More hardware partnerships — we’re testing with a few new Android TV devices
- Better API — for teams that want to integrate ScreenLoom into their own tools
Thanks
To everyone who signed up, tried it out, reported bugs, and told us what they actually needed — thank you. We’re building this based on real feedback, and it shows.
