Pairing Code

A pairing code is a short alphanumeric code displayed on a signage player that links the device to your account in the CMS dashboard.

What Is a Pairing Code?

A pairing code is a short, temporary code (typically 6–8 characters) displayed on a signage player screen when it's first set up. You enter this code in your CMS dashboard to register the device and link it to your account.

How Pairing Works

  1. Install the signage app on your media player or smart TV
  2. Launch the app — a pairing code appears on the screen
  3. Log into your CMS dashboard on a computer or phone
  4. Enter the pairing code in the "Add Screen" section
  5. The player is now linked — it downloads and begins showing your content

Why Not Just a Login?

Pairing codes are used instead of traditional username/password login because:

  • No keyboard needed — most media players don't have a keyboard attached
  • Secure — codes are temporary and single-use; they can't be reused by unauthorized devices
  • Simple — anyone can type a 6-character code; no technical knowledge required
  • Remote-friendly — an on-site technician can read the code to a remote admin over the phone

Troubleshooting

  • Code expired? — restart the signage app to generate a new code
  • Code not working? — check that the player has an internet connection
  • Device not appearing? — ensure the player app is up to date

ScreenLoom uses a simple pairing code system. Install the app, enter the code, and your screen is live in under a minute.
