Signage Analytics
Signage analytics is the measurement and reporting of how digital screens perform — including uptime, content play counts, audience dwell time, and engagement with interactive elements.
Also known as: Screen Analytics, Display Analytics, Digital Signage Reporting
What Is Signage Analytics?
Signage analytics is the collection and analysis of data about how your digital screens and content are performing. It answers questions like: Is the screen actually on? Which slides get the most attention? How long do people stop in front of the display? Did anyone scan the QR code?
Analytics is what turns a digital signage deployment from a cost centre into a measurable business tool.
Types of Signage Analytics
Operational Analytics
Tracks the health and status of your screens:
- Uptime — what percentage of scheduled hours was each screen live and displaying content?
- Connection status — is the player device online and connected?
- Content delivery confirmation — did the content update reach the screen?
- Error logging — crashes, failed content loads, connectivity drops
Content Analytics
Measures how content is used and consumed:
- Play counts — how many times each slide or playlist was shown
- Schedule adherence — did the right content play at the right time?
- Content freshness — how old is the currently displayed content?
Audience Analytics
The most advanced tier, requiring hardware (cameras, sensors) or integrations:
- Foot traffic / impressions — how many people passed the screen?
- Dwell time — how long did people look at the screen?
- Demographic signals — estimated age group, gender (privacy-compliant, aggregate only)
- Interaction rate — for touch screens and QR codes, what percentage of viewers engaged?
Why Analytics Matters for ROI
The most common reason digital signage budgets get cut is that the benefit is invisible. Analytics makes it visible. If you can show that your lobby screen is seen by 340 people per day and your QR code campaign drove 45 scans last week, the business case becomes concrete.

What ScreenLoom Tracks
ScreenLoom provides operational analytics — uptime monitoring, content delivery confirmation, and screen status — accessible from the central dashboard. Audience analytics requiring physical sensors are outside the current scope but can be integrated via the API.
